Some Helpful Info For You and Your Camper...Hi Ho is divided into five color groups, as follows: **Groups are created in order to make check-in and check-out easier on their counselor. Campers can play with anyone of any age group the entire day.** Blue GroupThe Blue Group consists of 5-6 year olds. This is our youngest and most watched-over group by counselors. "Blue groupers" enjoy every activity at Camp, so don't worry, your future camper will be able to participate in anything he/she is willing and able to try out. Red Group The Red Group consists of 7-8 year olds. Always our most rambunctious group, Red kids are the life of the party. It might be their sense of entitlement after coming to Camp the previous years, or just the age they possess, but whatever "it" is, these kids are ready for a nap come 3:00 (and so are we!). Green GroupThe Green Group consists of 9-10 year olds. These kid-os are "mature" but still enjoy every activity Hi Ho has to offer, even if they've come the past four years. Yellow Group The Yellow Group consists of 11-13 year olds. We call these kids our "seasoned vets." They've been around the block, usually, and can help out the younger kids if needed. Our Yellow Groupers find Hi Ho just as fun as the kids in the Blue Group! Hey, What's not to like? Orange Group The Orange Group is the car riders. There is no age-requirement for the Orange, so they are in whatever group they would normally be. The "Orange" is used only to specify that they are car riders. Say your daughter is a 10 year-old car rider, she would be considered a Green car rider, but would be wearing an orange wristband. LunchLunch can be brought from home, or purchased out at Camp for $15 per week. We provide a hotdog cookout on Friday, before the talent show, so there is no need to pack a lunch Friday. Our Hi Ho lunches consist of the following: Monday-sandwiches (ham, turkey, cheese, peanut butter and peanut butter & jelly); Tuesday-chicken nuggets; Wednesday-sandwiches; Thursday-pizza. We also provide chips, drink and dessert that is included in the $15. Snack ShackThe Snack Shack is a place where kids can get a refreshing drink or snack at any time during Camp hours. We have a menu full of delicious treats and ice-cold popsicles. Add money to your kid's Snack Shack accout during registration, or give the money (cash or check) to your camper's counselor in an envelope with the kid's name on it. Anywhere from $5-$15 should be sufficient for the week. Camp Hi Ho FeeOne week of Camp is $235 for car riders, and $245 for bus riders. Optional Hi Ho lunch is $15 for the week, not including Snack Shack money. Merchandise is also available online and at the Snack Shack! |
Kids have the Freedom to Choose What they do!It's true, kids are not told what activities to participate in, or how long. If your future camper loves fishing and swimming, why force him/her to do arts & crafts? Yes, we do encourage all kids to give everything a try, because it's all fun, but we don't make them participate in activities they have no interest in. We have tons of fun things to do, and children of all ages and backgrounds will find so many exciting summer activities at Hi Ho, while meeting many new friends! Kids and Their CounselorsWe employ around 30-40 employees at Hi Ho, making our kid-to-counselor ratio around 8:1, depending on attendance. Kids are assigned one counselor in their color group, and check-in and check-out with that counselor every day. If your camper comes with a friend, and they are assigned different counselors, the ONLY time they will be separated will be when they are checking in. We do separate our busses by color group, so if your camper’s friend is a different age, let the counselor know and we will work something out. Once we arrive at Camp, kids are free to hang out with anyone they please, no matter their age or counselor. |
