Horses
Horses are a very important aspect of Camp Hi Ho. Since we are located on a horse farm, in the horse capital of the world, these beautiful animals are naturally part of our camp. Our campers learn basic horsemanship from brushing, bathing, grooming and of course, riding. We have indoor and outdoor riding facilities on our property, and kids are allowed to ride horses at all camp hours.

We have three counselors stationed at horses, two leading kids around our riding ring, and our third counselor getting helmets on our campers. Our two Camp Hi Ho horses are Tex (above, left) and Buck (above, right). We start the day brushing and cleaning the horses, and then the campers ride for the rest of the day. On those hot and steamy summer afternoons, we like to give Buck and Tex a cold bath with the hose, which is fun for the kids (and horses).
